All the information for your VACAF Holidays
Do you receive holiday assistance from the Caisse d'allocations familiales? Then you've come to the right place. Familytrip is a Tour Operator approved by the CAF. You can book at any of the VACAF partner holiday centres and benefit from third-party payment... it's like going to the chemist, you don't have to pay in advance. But here you don't need a carte vitale. Everything is done using your benefit number. Familytrip is here to help you find the ideal destination and type of accommodation for your VACAF 2024 camping, residence or village club holiday. Thanks to VACAF aid, you can enjoy family holidays at reduced prices: your family allowance fund will pay part of the cost of your holiday.
What is a VACAF holiday centre?
A VACAF holiday centre is tourist accommodation like any other. It may be a hotel, a campsite or a holiday residence. Some unusual types of accommodation are also VACAF-approved, but this is rarer. Rental, mobile home, hotel or hotel club, all can be approved by the CAF.
To obtain CAF approval, holiday centres must apply for it and guarantee certain family or child services. Thanks to this, the CAF ensures that VACAF-approved centres are suitable for families receiving benefits.
There is no difference between a VACAF holiday centre and a "classic" centre. When you arrive on site you will be asked for nothing more and nothing less than what is asked of a normal customer. In other words, the notion of VACAF stops at the point of payment. If you are a VACAF beneficiary, part of the cost of your stay will be covered, but this information is not included on the booking form. In fact, from the hotelier's point of view, there is nothing to differentiate a VACAF recipient from a "classic" customer.
Booking with your CAF benefits does not mean an "inferior quality holiday". On the contrary, at Familytrip we are committed to offering you all types of holiday. Depending on your criteria, we can offer you holidays in accommodation with up to 4 stars, either self-catering or with catering (indoor or takeaway) and with plenty of facilities for a great family holiday: kids' club, heated swimming pool, relaxation area, water park with slides!
If you're looking for a holiday with non-stop entertainment or a kids' club so your child can make lots of new friends; if for you "successful holidays" mean a water park, heated pool and waterslides; if you prefer your holidays to be fun for the kids and relaxing for the parents by opting for accommodation with a relaxation area and board.... Or if, on the contrary, you want to return to your family cocoon for a quiet, small group holiday... We're here to help you find what you're looking for, with prices calculated according to the amount of your CAF assistance!
Is there a VACAF 2024 catalogue?
The answer is yes and no... Yes because on the VACAF.org website, you can find the full list of all VACAF holiday centres. No because the catalogue does not allow you to check availability online. In addition, due to the large number of VACAF beneficiaries, the same accommodation (campsite, hotel, residence) may be marketed by several entities or tour operators. So in the "VACAF Catalogue" you will find the same accommodation several times but with different telephone numbers.
In 2024, there are the February school holidays coming up very quickly for zone C, the Easter weekend at the end of March, the April holidays from 6 April to 13 May, and a whole host of bank holidays in May.... But be careful! Some CAFs do not authorise holidays all year round, even less so short breaks. If you're not sure before you book, you can always contact a Familytrip advisor, who will be able to tell you about your CAF's policy. Each department has its own policy! The advantage of booking with Familytrip is that each booking is strictly checked before being validated. So you'll know whether you're within your CAF's guidelines for 2024. If you're not and you're sorry: we'll cancel free of charge!
Where are VACAF holiday centres located?
As VACAF holiday centres are centres like any other, you'll find them everywhere but only in France. In fact, the VACAF scheme has a dual effect: it helps families receiving benefits with children to go on holiday, but it also helps the infrastructure by bringing in customers who might otherwise have gone abroad. We're often asked the question: "Can you use your VACAF vouchers for a holiday abroad?", and the answer is NO.
.
At Familytrip, we have VACAF holidays by the sea, in the mountains and in the countryside and even unusual holidays.
The VACAF scheme is only valid in France (and Corsica), so we're aware that some people are keen to discover other countries. That's why we've selected a range of accommodation close to borders. Booking with Familytrip allows you to use your CAF grants by staying in France while enjoying a family moment abroad.
How much of the stay is taken into account by the CAF?
The VACAF scheme applies to the accommodation part pro rata to the recipients and to half-board and full-board if they are booked with the accommodation. The CAF does not pay for transport or ancillary services. To give you a few examples: if you come with a pet and there is an extra charge, it will not be covered. If you book a mobile home for 8 people and there are only 4 people entitled to benefits, the CAF will base its calculations on half the price of the mobile home or the price of a 4-person mobile home... This calculation method may seem a little complex, but our holiday advisors are trained to carry it out quickly and provide you with the exact amount of VACAF cover as quickly as possible.
How long is a VACAF holiday?
The answer to this question varies widely. It depends on the constraints set by the CAF in your département. Some departments allow short stays of one night, others set constraints of a minimum of 7 nights. In all cases, it is the minimum number of nights that determines the minimum length of your stay. There is no maximum length of stay. Beyond the number of nights financed by VACAF, you will pay the full amount at your own expense.
Don't wait any longer, call us to find and book the family holiday that will put a smile on your family's face! You can even pre-book online using your VACAF vouchers and we'll contact you within 48 hours to check and validate your help! Booking with CAF aid is so easy, it doesn't take any longer than a "classic" booking.
