Mobile home rentals in a family campsite by Familytrip
Finding the right rental for a family can turn into a headache: number of rooms, bedrooms, covered terrace, desire to be close to the beach but also to the shops, desire for more unusual accommodation than a mobile home... That's why Familytrip has selected a huge number of rentals at campsites all over France, so that every family can find what they're looking for and have an unforgettable stay.
The different types of mobile home rentals
In France, the mobile home is a popular form of camping accommodation especially for families! These "mobile homes" are often used by families for economical and comfortable holidays, but in reality they don't move. There are several types of mobile home in France, each offering different features and benefits!
The classic mobile home
The classic mobile home is the most common type in France. These mobile homes are generally equipped with three or four rooms, two or three bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room and a bathroom. They are designed to sleep up to six or eight people and are often equipped with outdoor terraces or patios. These mobile homes are generally found in 2 to 3 star campsites. These campsites may have a family restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool, a play area, and possibly a club and entertainment, but not much more. There's usually no grocery shop on site, but you can take your car to go shopping. The overall price of the stay will be lower especially if you stay 14 nights!
The luxury mobile home
Luxury mobile homes are often equipped with extra features such as hot tubs, outdoor kitchens, more space, comfort such as a large terrace with sun loungers... These accommodations are found in 4 or 5 star campsites. They don't need more rooms, but they have more space and all the facilities are better: they have reversible air-conditioning, the bedding is more comfortable, etc. But they do have access to the more upmarket facilities on the campsite: water park (rather than swimming pool), spa (rather than nothing), grocery shop (rather than convenience store), all-day kids' clubs and entertainment at night too! Most campsites have wifi, but it's often only at reception, whereas luxury mobile homes have wifi in the accommodation. Finally, we don't always have full information on these family rentals, but they are often more recent than classic mobile homes.
The unusual mobile home or the discovery of glamping
The unusual mobile home is a type of mobile home that stands out from traditional models. These homes are often designed to resemble unusual structures, such as boats, mountain chalets or yurts. They are equipped with unique features and are often chosen by holidaymakers looking for an unusual holiday experience in France. They can be found all over France: by the sea, in Noirmoutier, on the Côte d'Azur, in the Var, in Provence but also in the mountains in the Alps or the Pyrenees.
Glamping is an increasingly popular trend for outdoor enthusiasts looking to play the comfort and luxury card with the camping experience. This form of luxury camping was invented in the 2000s and has become very popular ever since.
The word "glamping" is a combination of the words "glamour" and "camping". It refers to a high-end camping experience, where campers can enjoy the beauty of Nature while having access to modern and comfortable facilities. The accommodation on offer can be spacious, well-equipped tents, wooden cabins, yurts, tipis, caravans or even tree houses. But there are also revamped mobile homes with wooden or other cladding that no longer look like mobile homes! They still have 3 or 4 rooms, and bedrooms too, but from the outside they're unrecognisable. No water park at these destinations, but rather a swimming pool with natural filtering using reeds, for example.
Glamping is a unique experience, offering total immersion in nature. Campers can enjoy fresh air, more space, and the peace and quiet of nature while having access to comfortable beds, private bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens and sometimes even a swimming pool so. This type of camping is perfect for a family holiday, as there are separate areas for children and parents. Rentals are still itemised according to the number of rooms.
In short, glamping is a high-end camping experience, offering the perfect balance between comfort and adventure, allowing campers to enjoy nature without giving up their comfort.
The price of these mobile home rentals
The luxury mobile homes are very tempting but the snag is the price. they are much more expensive! The water park is more expensive to maintain than the swimming pool, and the entertainment or children's club included means the salaries of the entertainers have to be included in the price of your accommodation rental... And yes, aperitif games are nice, but they actually add to the price. But we're going to give you our advice to help you reduce the price you pay without reducing the number of nights you spend on holiday. You can choose when you book: at the very first minute or at the very last minute. You can also change the dates of your stay. Unfortunately, holiday dates are often imposed and you don't have the choice of dates for your family holiday!
One more piece of advice: do yourself a favour in April or All Saints' Day and book a 4 or 5 star campsite at the start of the season, it's much cheaper! What's more, they may be equipped with a heated indoor swimming pool: in the event of less clement weather, you have an accessible indoor activity other than the restaurant or bar! At this time of year, the beach is less popular for swimming, although if you opt for the Côte d'Azur like Saint-Raphaël for example, the locals go swimming from April to October. It's even said that the sea water is better at night. No sunbathing on the beach afterwards, but the swimming is worth trying! Another tip is the location of your campsite, you can go on the Côte d'Azur but also a little further away from the beaches in the Var for example, so you'll benefit from unbeatable prices. One last tip to ensure that the price of your booking is not prohibitive, you can play the "I don't want to go where everyone else is going" card! The Alps and the Pyrenees have some magnificent star-rated campsites, which are 3 or 4 times cheaper than a campsite by the sea or in Provence. What's more, the mountains are full of outdoor activities in summer: via ferrata, hiking, mountain biking, swimming pool, tennis, canyoning, rafting... That's over 70 varied activities!
If, with all this information, you're a little lost and don't know where to start looking for your booking. There's no need to summon Saint Anthony of Padua (like Louis de Funès in Rabbi Jacob), but instead turn to our advisors who specialise in holidays with children. You can contact them by phone or email, and they'll give you all the information you need, their opinion too, and make it easy for you to get through. Don't hesitate: book your week on a family campsite!
